Draft law on production incentive of petrochemicals will be prepared during the period from several weeks to one and a half month – Deputy Minister of Energy Pavel Sorokin reported on the sidelines of the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi.
He clarified that the Ministry of Energy was developing the draft law together with the Ministry of Finance. The draft law is to be approved by the Ministry on Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Federal Antimonopoly Service.
According to Sorokin’s report subsidizing of ethane processing may be started after 2020 only. Subsidizing of processing of liquified petroleum gas (LPG) is also assumed.
Earlier the vice prime-minister Dmitry Kozak declared that the government was planning to introduce methane reverse excise duty. He also said that a specific draft of “road map” on development of petrochemical industry had been prepared with priority on processing of LPG, ethane and methanol.
