The prime-minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree that allowed Gazprom and its affiliated companies to realize produced gas to the methanol producing companies for its further export by unregulated wholesale prices. This document was published on the governmental site on Wednesday.
«To allow Public Joint Stock Company “Gazprom” (its affiliated companies) to realize natural gas produced by them by unregulated wholesale prices to the companies which concluded the gas supply agreements after November 1st, 2018 that specify beginning of gas supplies after January the 1st, 2020 in order to produce methanol from natural gas being in gaseous state for further export», – the explanatory note to the decree said.
It is also noted in the explanatory note that the decree has been prepared in order to provide gas for the perspective industrial consumers and creation of additional conditions for development of the gas-chemical branch.
Nowadays in Russia the projects on construction of facilities for methanol production are in the process of realization. It is planned to use natural gas produced by Gazprom and its affiliated companies as raw material. This will make possible to increase volumes of sales of competitive Russian products in the world market.
