Gathering of grapes, berries and fruits in the Crimea may exceed the level of long-term indicators, the head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, said on Friday during a selector meeting on preparation for harvesting, which was held with the heads of regions, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

In the current year, the expected tree for production of fruit and berry products will be 145 thousand tons, grapes – 68 thousand tons, said Aksenov. Earlier, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sergei Petelin reported that the authorities of the Republic of Crimea are planning to 3.5 times increase the production of fruits and berries in the region – up to 460 thousand tons.

The capacities of the existing winemaking enterprises of the Crimea, and in the region 32, are able to process up to 300 thousand tons of grapes per year, and pour up to 43 million decaliters. According to the Agriculture Ministry of Crimea, in 2017 the gross harvest of grapes increased by 23%, to 66, 2 thousand tons compared to 2016.
